How To Create The Perfect Festive Doorway

Just because Christmas is a little different this year, it doesn’t mean you can’t take some time to decorate your home. With 2020 resulting in the majority of us spending more time at home than ever before, it’s more essential than ever to create a space you truly love.

Christmas is the time of year most of us go all out on our decorating, with trees, garlands, and lights covering our houses inside and out. Decorating your front door is the perfect place to start, and helps to set the tone of your entire home, so we’ve put together some suggestions to help you put together the perfect Christmas display this season, including adding a Christmas wreath and your favourite hellebores.

1. Start With A Show-Stopping Christmas Wreath

A wreath is what we would all think of when deciding to decorate our entryways. They’re great at helping you introduce a colour scheme for your front door, resulting in a sophisticated and eye-catching design.

Whether you prefer a more traditional wreath, a floristry approach, or a snowflake-inspired design – we have a wreath that will be perfect for your door.

2. Use Symmetry

Symmetry is a great way to create an aesthetically pleasing doorway. The best way to do this is by placing small trees on either side of your door, which frames your door whilst adding beautiful greenery.

Additionally, trees are such a good way to add depth and differences in height, making for a visually interesting display. Our favourite picks are a Bay Tree or Pyramid or a Buxus Pyramid.

3. Add Christmas Lights and Other Christmas Decorations

To make your front door extra festive, lights and decorations are a must. Some outdoor-safe fairy lights on your trees are guaranteed to brighten any gloomy day over the season and will make your home feel extra special.

4. Add Winter Plants Such As Hellebores

Adding plants to your front door display is a great way to diversify your decorating and add some colour.

Options can seem endless for this, but our favourite for this time of year are the hardy perennial Hellebores. Coming in a variety of colours, you are definitely going to find something perfect for you.
