February Plant of the Month: Primula (Primroses)

The Primula, also known as Primroses, are the perfect choice to brighten your garden during the winter months. Primula is easy to grow, highly fragrant, and brings much-needed colour to your garden.

Primroses are a perennial, fully hardy and easy to care for, suitable for baskets or pots, beds, and borders. Whether your garden is cottage style, urban, or coastal the Primula will prove itself as a  delightful addition.

Where to plant Primroses?

Primroses are bright and cheerful and just ideal for a spring border, flowering from February to May. They are best planted in dappled shade in soil that is damp and not prone to drying out.  If you have a wet area of semi-shade, Primulas are just ideal.

For maximum effect, they look great planted together on mass and also compliment other spring bulbs well.
