In 2026 Greg Anderton from ‘Leafy Lytham’ celebrates 20 years in business….. and he’s 31 years old. You do the maths, he did indeed start his business aged 11 on the primary school playground. Greg’s love of gardening started early, the earliest picture of him in his grandparents’ garden he actually had a watering can in his hand! In high school Greg sold plants to his teachers at school famously getting in trouble for delivering the head of maths a hanging basket rather than his overdue maths homework.

Now in 2026, Greg’s business has grown hugely. Since leaving school, Greg has designed over 40 gardens from small courtyards to recently completing the last remaining historic walled garden on the Fylde Coast. Greg’s ‘Garden Hub’ is a multi-award-winning garden centre in Lytham St Annes, based in the historic grounds of Lytham Hall, where he also teaches people how to garden at his sell-out ‘gardening club’. In addition to Greg’s private design work, he is a gold medal winner at national flower shows, this year being invited to exhibit at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

This year, Greg will be creating his flower show displays around the UK using his favourite Golden Valley plants. Each year Greg uses tens of thousands of Golden Valley perennials, shrubs and specimens in his displays, private work and at his garden centre. To Greg it made sense to partner with Golden Valley for his flower shows because the plants ‘are just stunning’. He said
