Let’s start with our first featured plant.
Polemonium ‘Violet Heart’ (PBR) — A Standout New Perennial for 2026
Available to purchase now with delivery from April.
Polemoniums remain one of the most popular spring-flowering perennials, valued for their structure and softness in mixed borders. The new variety Polemonium ‘Violet Heart’ (PBR) stood out immediately, going on to win the public vote during the 2025 plant trials. This recognition from the public vote demonstrates its broad appeal among gardeners and professionals alike, a powerful early endorsement for a new perennial.
This award-recognised Polemonium variety offers a refined colour palette with subtle purple tones running through the flower centres and sepals. Even the foliage adds interest, with mature leaves developing a delicate purple edging as they grow. Deadheading after flowering helps extend the display.
Key Features:
Award-winning new Polemonium variety
Subtle purple detailing in flowers and foliage
More compact than standard Polemoniums
Lightly fragrant flowers that add extra sensory appeal to garden borders
Excellent mid-border perennial choice, typically reaches 40–60 cm in height, with a similar spread
Thrives in full sun to light shade, making it a valuable choice for partially shaded areas
A fully hardy perennial that dies back in autumn and returns each spring
