These sempervivums should be planted in an exposed part of the garden with plenty of access to sunlight. Avoid planting in poorly draining soil. It helps to mix some grit with the soil, and don’t plant too deeply, keep the plant slightly above the surrounding soil and finish off with a good layer of grit or gravel spread around and under the plants. Will tolerate dry periods well.
