Alstroemerias are compact and busy deciduous perennials which prefer sun to partial shade in well drained soil. To encourage a second flush of flowers, deadhead at the base of the stem, and note that they may cause reactions when making direct contact with skin in those with allergies, so it is recommended to wear gloves when handling.
