Pink Elle grow best in well-drained but moist soil, mainly in full sun. They will need shelter from colder winds, as these can cause them to dry up if left unattended. They will survive temperatures as low as -15C, and do not need regular pruning unless grown as a hedge. When pruned, spread approximately 5cm of soil conditioner above the roots, avoiding the stems. To encourage healthy growth through the year, apply a slow release fertiliser every year in spring.
