Pink Elle prove that a plant can be hardy as well as beautiful. It’s pink flowers in Summer and Autumn are striking in garden borders, and provide a great contrast to it’s glossier leaves. While they can be grown alone in a sheltered environment, they can also be grown as a hedge, which is perfect considering their low maintenance.

Description

Pink Elle grow best in well-drained but moist soil, mainly in full sun. They will need shelter from colder winds, as these can cause them to dry up if left unattended. They will survive temperatures as low as -15C, and do not need regular pruning unless grown as a hedge. When pruned, spread approximately 5cm of soil conditioner above the roots, avoiding the stems. To encourage healthy growth through the year, apply a slow release fertiliser every year in spring.
