Planting Conditions
When it comes to planting, Dahlia Pacific View thrives in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. It prefers full sun to partial shade, with at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day for optimal growth and abundant flowering. Choosing a location that provides some protection from strong winds will help prevent damage to the delicate blooms.
Watering & Feeding
Regular watering is essential to keep Pacific View hydrated and healthy. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring the water reaches the root zone. However, be cautious not to overwater, as dahlia tubers are prone to rot in excessively wet conditions. Applying a layer of mulch around the base of the plant will help retain moisture, suppress weed growth, and maintain a cool root environment.
General Care
To encourage continuous blooming, it is recommended to deadhead faded flowers regularly. Removing spent blooms not only enhances the overall appearance of the plant but also redirects its energy towards producing new buds and flowers. Pinching back the growing tips when the plant reaches about 12 inches (30 cm) in height can also promote bushier growth and more abundant flowering.
