Description

Introducing the Delphinium 'Rose with White Bee', a stunning addition to any garden! This delightful flower is sure to brighten up your outdoor space with its delicate pink petals and pure white centre. And, as an added bonus, it's a favourite of our little buzzy friends - the bees! The Delphinium 'Rose with White Bee' is a tall, elegant plant that can grow up to 90cm in height, making it a perfect choice for those who want to add some height and drama to their garden. The flowers bloom in mid to late Summer, and their gorgeous blush and white petals provide a striking contrast to the green foliage. One of the most charming features of this flower is its ability to attract bees. Bees love the nectar produced by the Delphinium 'Rose with White Bee', and you'll often see them buzzing around the plant. This makes it not only a beautiful addition to your garden, but an important one too, as it helps to support our pollinator friends. But this Delphinium isn't just pretty and beneficial to bees, it's also easy to care for. It prefers a sunny spot in well-draining soil, and should be watered regularly. You can even cut the flowers for indoor arrangements, as they look just as lovely in a vase as they do in the garden. In short, if you're looking for a plant that's both stunning and useful, look no further than the Delphinium 'Rose with White Bee'. It's sure to bring a smile to your face every time you see it, and to the bees, it's a sweet treat that they'll be grateful for.

Planting Conditions

Delphiniums thrive in well-drained, fertile soil with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Choose a planting location with full sun exposure, as they require at least six hours of sunlight daily for optimal growth and blooming. Before planting, incorporate organic matter like compost into the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Plant Delphiniums in early Spring or early Autumn, spacing them about 18 to 24 inches apart. Provide support stakes or cages to prevent tall varieties from bending or toppling over in windy conditions. With proper planting conditions, Delphiniums will flourish and offer an abundance of their striking blooms.

Watering & Feeding

For thriving Delphiniums, maintain consistent soil moisture by watering deeply whenever the top inch of soil feels dry, especially during dry spells. Avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal diseases. Feed with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season, applying it around the base of the plants every 4-6 weeks. In Spring, incorporate a slow-release fertiliser into the soil during planting. Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. With proper watering and feeding, Delphiniums will reward you with vigorous growth and abundant, bi-colour blooms.

General Care

To care for Delphiniums, secure tall flower spikes to stakes to prevent them from bending or breaking in strong winds. Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming. After the first flush of flowers in late May or early June, perform the "Chelsea Chop" by cutting the plant back by half. This technique promotes a second flush of blooms later in the Summer. Additionally, remove any yellowing or damaged foliage throughout the growing season to maintain plant health and aesthetics. With proper care, Delphiniums will thrive and produce beautiful blooms throughout the Summer months.
