Gaillardias are easy to grow perennials with a long flowering period. Their common name is ‘Blanket Flower’ with good reason, as you will quite literally get a blanket of flowers all summer from this lovely perennial. Plants also set seed so you will get new plants appearing in the border.  With their wonderfully hot colour mixes of reds, oranges and yellows these plants look great in a pot or in the front of a mixed border. Bees and Butterflies love their large flowers too.

Description

Gaillardia are very easy to grow, provided they are planted in full sun and well drained soil. Water well to establish plant. In it's second year it should be fairly drought tolerant. Dead head flowers to encourage more blooms and flowers will keep coming until Autumn! Do not worry about feeding as poor soil can make Gaillardia produce more flowers.
