Osteospermum 'Tresco Purple' thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. To plant, choose a location that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily. Enrich the soil with compost before planting to enhance fertility and drainage. Space the plants about 30 cm apart to allow for adequate air circulation and growth. This variety is tolerant of drought once established but benefits from occasional watering during prolonged dry periods. Ideal for garden beds, borders, or containers, 'Tresco Purple' adds vibrant color to any garden.

Osteospermum 'Tresco Purple' requires regular watering until established. Once settled, water the plant deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. In prolonged dry periods, increase watering frequency. Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season to promote vibrant blooms and healthy growth. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can lead to lush foliage with fewer flowers. Mulching around the base helps retain moisture and reduces the need for frequent watering.

Osteospermum 'Tresco Purple' benefits from regular deadheading to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Prune the plant lightly in early Spring to promote new growth and shape the plant as desired. This plant is generally resistant to most pests and diseases but keep an eye out for common issues such as aphids or powdery mildew. If detected, treat promptly with appropriate measures. Ensuring good air circulation around the plant can help prevent fungal diseases. Regular care will keep your Osteospermum healthy and flourishing.
