Salvia are easy to care for and require very little maintenance. For best results they prefer a sunny, sheltered spot and a moist, but well-drained soil. Salvia are fairly drought tolerant, but they will require more regular watering until established. Mulch annually with well-rotted manure, or garden compost. Remove faded flower spikes to encourage repeat flowering and cut back in the autumn after flowering has finished.
