Scabiosa are easy to care for and require little maintenance. Plant in a moist, well-drained soil in a sunny, but sheltered spot. Water on a weekly basis during the summer until the plant is established, but protect from excessive winter wet. Drought tolerant once established. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser once a month during the growing season. In spring mulch around the plant with well-rotted organic matter, which helps to seal in moisture around the roots. Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering.
