Scilla Peruviana, also known as Portuguese Squill, is a spring-flowering perennial bulb with striking, lavender-blue flowers. Large heads of up-to 100 star shaped flowers, form dramatic conical domes from May to June and are accompanied by strappy leaves that look similar to Hyacinth leaves. This exotic variety looks great planted in bold swathes running throughout sunny borders or shrubberies – they do well in pots too!

Description

Scilla originate from the Mediterranean, so they do love a sunny spot in the garden with well-drained soil. Water well during the growing season until established, but ease off with the watering after flowering allowing it to dry out a bit. They require little maintenance but must be allowed to die back naturally after flowering, in order to feed the bulb for the following year.
