A popular hero at Chelsea! Thalictrum or Meadow-rue as it is also known, loves a partially shaded spot and is perfect for a cottage or woodland setting. It’s one of the easiest plants to grow and is great for adding height to a planting scheme. No wonder this fantastic variety has been given the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for outstanding garden performance.

Thalictrum are quite easy to grow provided they are given a moist, but well-drained soil and a sunny or partially shaded spot. Keep well watered, especially until established and mulch during the spring to help maintain moisture and suppress weeds. Thalictrum can be cut back after flowering or this can be delayed until the late winter/early spring as the foliage and seed heads remain attractive.
