Sedum ‘Rose Carpet’ is a charming and versatile perennial plant that blankets the ground with a carpet of soft, rosy-pink foliage. This sedum variety features succulent-like leaves that are tightly packed together, forming a dense mat. The leaves are a beautiful shade of green, tinged with hints of pink that intensify during periods of stress or cooler temperatures. ‘Rose Carpet’ also produces clusters of tiny star-shaped flowers in a delicate shade of pink, adding an additional layer of beauty to its overall appearance.
This form of 'Stonecrop' easily spreads to make an arching carpet of fleshy, rounded blue-green leaves that often have a pink tinge. In late summer and autumn it has a long lasting show of soft pink flowers that, as with all sedum's, are a magnet for butterflies, bees and other insects.
Water thoroughly before planting. Dig a hole twice the size of the pot. Add compost and fertiliser to the base of the hole and planting soil. Place plant centrally in hole, keeping it level with surrounding soil and fill in the hole with compost.
Watering & Feeding
Little watering needed for sustaining, except in dryer spells where more regular watering can prevent the plant from dying out.
