Description

Bay Trees can be planted in most fertile, well-drained soil and prefer a sheltered position in sun or partial shade. They will not perform well in heavy clay soils unless the soil is improved with extra sand and grit. If planted in a pot they will need more regular watering, especially during the drier months of the year. Add controlled-release fertiliser granules to the compost in mid-spring or liquid feed every two weeks in mid-spring to late summer. Trim to maintain shape in spring and summer.
